This post will cover Windows 7 drivers for Acer Aspire 5100 series since Acer only provide Windows XP and Vista drivers for it. There are wide range of Aspire 5100 series such as Aspire 5104 and Aspire 5112WLMi and all of them use the same drivers set.
The best way to install windows 7 on this machine is by upgrading from windows Vista to Windows 7 because you will find that all drivers installed automatically.
If you make a clean installation into Windows 7, there are 2 drivers which not automatically installed which is Card Reader and Touchpad.

Alternatively you can install Windows Vista Touchpad driver in compatibility mode.

Just download your original Windows Vista Drivers :

Installation :
1. Extract the driver file, open device manager. For this tutorial just extract
2. Now you will have 3 PCI devices marked with yellow, right lcik on it and select update drivers.
3. Select Browse automatically for driver software.
4. Click browse and tick include subfolder. Now select te extracted driver file and continue to press Next untill Installation finish.
Repeat this step for each PCI devices.

Extarct the files, look for setup and set the compatibility into windows Vista to install (tutorial with pictures here).
